Brindle oriental cats are recognized as a breeding breed since 2004. The crossing of such cats with Siamese cats resulted in a so called Siamese bicolour (bicolored Siamese), which is called Seychellois Shorthair since 2008. If these cats are again crossed with Balinese or longhaired oriental cats, the result are longhaired Seychellois kittens, which are called Seychellois Longhair and are also recognized as a breed since 2008.
