The Rafeiro do Alentejo (also known as Rafeiro of Alentejo and Alentejo Mastiff, among other names), is a large breed of dog that originated in Portugal. The breed is of the livestock guardian type, and the name refers to its area of origin, Alentejo, in south-central Portugal. Although the word rafeiro means 'mongrel' in Portuguese, the variety is recognised as a standardised breed by the Portuguese Caniculture Club and the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI).
