The Pfalz-Ardenner is a comparatively young horse breed, which originated around 1900. The breeding basis is characterized by breeding animals of the French cold-blood breeds, such as especially Lorraine, Comtois and Ardennes, as well as Belgian, Rhineland German cold-blood and Bavarian cold-blood.
